Assignment 3.2 - Online games report

Call of duty
Call of duty is the genre named first person shooter, this relates to the game as the player sees through the eyes of the character as if there really there its realistic and is very intelligent. Cod is developed by infinity ward and published by activision. The platforms for the game are Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, N-Gage, Xbox 360 XBLA, and PlayStation Network.
The characters are:
Private Joey Martin– Martin volunteered for the 101st Airborne in 1942 and was placed in Baker Company, He sees action in France, Germany, Austria, and Belgium.
Sergeant Jack Evans – Evans is originally a member of D Company, He sees action in France, Norway, and Germany.
Private Alexei Ivanovich Voronin (later promoted to Junior Sergeant, then full Sergeant) –He sees action in Russia, Poland, and Germany.
You can play multiplayer and single player on cod using via xbox live if playing on xbox 360. The storyline of Call of Duty is actually more character-based than it is one connected, over-arching story. In Finest Hour, we see 6 different characters and get a feel for why each is there and the contribution and sacrifice each made for the Allied cause. Their stories intersect in timeline only. The Russians are more connected to each another, while the other character's campaigns are more individual experiences. Employing such deep character development into the Call of Duty experience is one of the things we're most excited about. It really lends itself to the context and cinematic feel of the overall sense of harrowing warfare common soldiers like these faced in during the war. Weapon wise The player will get to use over 30 weapons in Finest Hour, but in keeping with a more realistic and believable setting, you can hold onto only two at a time plus grenades. This keeps us within the realism of believability with what an actual soldier may be able to cart around at any time. However, the player is free to pick up and drop weapons at any time off fallen allies or enemies, which constantly keeps the variety moving.

Grand theft auto: San andreas
The genre of this game is a action-adventure game, the game relates to the genre as you as the player are free to roam developed by Rock star North.
On a normal Gta game its only a single player game but when going to an imparticular spot on the map you can click to play multiplayer giving the second controller a variety of people in which to be.
The story is is set in the fiction state of San Andreas, putting together three metropolitan cities. San Andreas revolves around the gang member Carl "CJ" Johnson returning home from Liberty City to Los Santos after learning of his mother's murder. CJ finds his old friends and family. Over the course of the game, CJ gradually unravels the plot behind his mother's murder while exploring his own business ventures. He does this By gathering missions from different crooks situated around the city.
The player can control a wide variety of vehicles such as buses, semis, boats, airplanes, helicopters, trains, tanks, motorcycles and bikes. Players may also import vehicles rather than steal them such as finding cheats which can be found off the internet.
The characters:
The player controls Carl "CJ" Johnson, a young African-American gang member who serves as the game's protagonist.
Carl’s brother Sean "Sweet" Johnson
Sweets best friend Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris
Carl’s neighbor Lance "Ryder" Wilson
Mexican gang leader Cesar Vialpando kendls boyfriend
Sweets sister Kendl
Much More…
To Gain money in san andreas Carl does missions for major crooks around town which also gains him rep and also makes other gang members aware of him.
Weapons can be brought in arm shops with the money earned by missions also you can gather weapons off gang members or random people the player has killed, also doing this you can take there money not only weapons. There’s a range of weapons which can be gathered or brought such as grenades, guns, fire blowers.
Compare
The elements in which Grand theft auto and call of duty have in common are multiplayer, they both contain a way of having two players compete or work together. Also both games are free Rome they both control where they go and also control who they kill, they both level by doing missions which leads to getting weapons or other objects or needs. The characters in both games add to the meaning given in the games such as grand theft auto revolves around a gang a hood where there’s different gangs and different reps around. Whereas call of duty’s characters also adds as they sortve have the same as they are army placed and fight for there country which brings me back to my point they both rep a certain place and both fight for what they believe. When looking to weapons Both Gta and Cod Can gather weapons off Killing enemies etc. Cod’s elements all relate to the genre first person shooter as it contains the basic meaning of first person shooter is gives an element of realism and adds to the players excitement. Gtas Genre is perfect as gta is an adventurous and independent game, it makes you feel as if your there, it has a very wide use of giving the player opportunities to make decisions and give commandments.

The Beatles Rock Band review

The reviewer uses good points and bad points to review. He looks at the effects of how the camera angle is and the lights etc. "Vocal harmonies add an exciting dimension to gameplay" He talks about the instruments and how they sound. The bad point he gives is that even though its lots of great fun some Beatles songs aren't included, No drum fills or end-of-song jam sessions. He says that the game is fun and easy to use.
